Overview

1. Under Women Empowerment Programme we have implemented a very important Project entitles “UTILIZATION OF WASTE MATERIALS (COCONUT SKIN) FOR GAINFUL SELF EMPLOYMENT

    

   Innovative Challenge Fund (ICF) under Change Management Unit (CMU) of the Municipal Affairs Department of the Govt. of West Bengal sanctioned this project to be implemented in Arambagh Municipality area of Hooghly district. The project envisaged self sufficiency of 50 women by gaining self employment opportunities at one end and piloting a method for keeping the environment neat & clean on the other. The project has been successfully accomplished in the area and the objectives of the project has been well realized on completion of the activities within a span of 12 months

    

   Apart from the above following activities are also been undertaken

    

   1. Awareness Generation Programmes on various societal issues concerning the women
   2. Formation and activation of Self Help Groups (SHGs) for Women in both rural and urban areas
   3. Involving the women in gainful activities
   4. Providing skill formation/skill up-gradation training
   5. Informing and updating the women in regard to the plans and programmes initiated for them by various developmental actors including the Govt
   6. Inspiring the members of the SHGs and the JLGs to venture through modern and innovative income generation initiatives
